Stir fry beef in anchovies and garlic marinade
braising steak, cut into strips
3-4 small anchovies fillets in oil, chopped
2 garlic cloves, sliced
2 tbs soy sauce
2 dessert spoons of honey
10 fresh thyme springs
5 tbs olive oil
2 tbs oil
Start off with marinade. And if possible marinade meat overnight and if not than at least for 4-5 hours. And here is the marinade: mix the olive oil, anchovies, garlic, soy sauce, half of fresh thyme, honey and add beef. Do not put any salt at this point. Just a bit of freshly grounded pepper. Cover all in cling film and refrigerate.
Heat the oil in a wok or large frying pan. Remove beef from marinade and cook for few minutes till nice and brown. Then add marinade, reduce heat and simmer further till tender. If required add a bit of water. Season well.
Serve with rice and roasted cherry tomatoes. Garnish with fresh thyme and serve immediately.
